Cranford Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges

Eugene Jukniewicz, 48 was charged with distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography, report says

Cranford, NJ -- A Cranford man has been arrested and charged with sharing images and videos depicting child pornography over the Internet, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced today.

More than 25 computer files depicting a range of acts constituting child pornography were found on a computer and tablet seized during the arrest of Eugene Jukniewicz at his home Tuesday morning, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Shawn Barnes, who is prosecuting the case.

Jukniewicz, 48 was charged today, Dec. 9 with second-degree distribution of child pornography and third-degree possession of child pornography.

His arrest was the result of a month-long investigation led by Detective Daniel Gallagher of the Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Prosecutions Unit, which was initiated by a referral from the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, according to Shawn Barnes.

State Superior Court Judge Regina Caulfield set bail at $150,000, and he was sent to Union County Jail, with a first appearance scheduled to take place in the coming days.

Convictions on second-degree crimes are commonly punishable by terms of 5 to 10 years in state prison.
