Cranford Man Resisted Arrest: Police

Brian Darling was stopped for trespassing, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 42-year-old Cranford man was arrested and charged with resisting arrest after and altercation with police on Aug. 15.

Brian Darling was stopped on his bike near Walton Avenue when Patrolman John Rattigan saw him trespassing in the area of the Conrail railway tracks, police said.

Following an investigation on scene, Rattigan arrested the Darling for an active arrest warrant out of Cranford Municipal Court, police said. Darling resisted
arrest and was also found to be in possession of a pellet gun.

He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date.
