Cranford 'Meets Expectations' In PARCC Assessment
District numbers released show Cranford scoring level four in most categories.

CRANFORD, NJ - On average, the Cranford School District has met expectations in terms of the district-by-district, school-by-school PARCC results released this week.
Patch put together the rankings, from top to bottom, for each grade (high school math was broken into Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II). You can see the complete ranking of every school here.
Many districts in New Jersey performed in the "Level 4" and "Level 5" areas, which is between the scores of 750 and 850, the latter being a perfect score. The score breakdowns are as follows:

Level 1 (650-700): Did Not Yet Meet Expectations
Level 2 (700-725): Partially Met Expectations
Level 3 (725-750): Approached Expectations
Level 4 (750-799): Met Expectations
Level 5 (800-850): Exceeded Expectations
In third grade English Cranford ranked 136 with a 766 score. In fourth grade English Cranford ranked 126 with a 772 score. In fifth grade English Cranford ranked 86 with a 775 score. In sixth grade English Cranford ranked 121 with a 770 score. In seventh grade English Cranford ranked 169 with a 773 score. In eighth grade English Cranford ranked 139 with a 774 score. In ninth grade English Cranford ranked 75 with a 765 score. In tenth grade English Cranford ranked 68 with a 764 score. In eleventh grade English Cranford ranked 24 with a 758 score. In twelfth grade English Cranford ranked 24 with a 758 score.

In third grade math Cranford ranked 129 with a 766 score. In fourth grade math Cranford ranked 137 with a 760 score. In fifth grade math Cranford ranked 73 with a score of 767. In sixth grade math Cranford ranked 34 with a 766 score. In seventh grade math Cranford ranked 70 with a 760 score. In eighth grade math Cranford ranked 262 with a score of 729.
In Algebra I Cranford ranked 214 with a score of 763. In Geometry Cranford ranked 95 with a score of 744. In Algebra II Cranford ranked 81 with a score of 738.
The PARCC tests have been a source of controversy for years, and Gov. Phil Murphy has talked for nearly year about finding replacements for the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers test.
Patch focused on town school districts, charter, vocational and magnet schools. Please note that many students opted out of taking the exam, though New Jersey hasn't said how many.
