Cranford Poet Launches New Book, Will Host Poetry Reading
The Mountainside Superintendent will be hosting a book launch, reception and poetry reading for her new book "The Only Proof" on June 11.

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford resident and Mountainside Superintendent Nancy Lubarsky is promoting her recently published book, “The Only Proof,” which is a collection of poems reflecting her life.
The Fanwood Arts Council and the Carriage House Poetry Series will host the book launch, reception and poetry reading for Lubarsky on Saturday, June 17 from 3 to 5 p.m.
The reception and reading will take place at the Patricia Kuran Arts Center adjacent to Fanwood Borough Hall, 75 N. Martine Ave., Fanwood. The event is free and open to the public.

This is Lubarsky’s second book which she has been working on with the Westfield Poetry Group — whom she has been a member of for about 10 years.
“My first book was a chap book, it conforms to a certain form and is only 25 pages,” Lubarsky told Patch. “It’s a little less formal in presentation but still considered a published work. This is three times in length with 90 pages and a glossy cover. It’s a little more in depth.”

“The Only Proof,” published this month by Kelsay Books (a division of Aldrich Press), is more of an autobiographical of Lubarsky’s life.
The first section of the book recounts Lubarsky’s childhood such as car rides with her parents, memories of playing with her sister and dog and even a childhood boyfriend.
Lubarsky has been an educator for more than 35 years in various roles as teacher, curriculum supervisor, principal, adjunct professor and currently school superintendent in Mountainside. She holds a Doctorate in English Education from Rutgers University.
Lubarsky noted how writing poetry has helped in her career.
“I’ve always liked to write,” Lubarsky said. “I was an English teacher for many years and I liked to model the poetry process in the classroom. I also used to bring my students to open poetry readings in the area."
At the book launch and reception, all are invited to attend this free event. Refreshments will be served. Copies of “The Only Proof” will be available for purchase.
“The Only Proof” is also available on Amazon.
