Cranford Police To Crackdown On Seat Belt Enforcement
$65,000 in grant money was awarded to Union County Police Departments to help enforce the Click It Or Ticket campaign.

Cranford, NJ -- Make sure to fasten your seat belts.
Police in Union County, including Cranford, will be cracking down on drivers who are not buckling up as part of the Click It Or Ticket 2016 Campaign by the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety.
The crackdown will be held from May 23 to June 5.

To fund the program, grants were awarded to these Union County departments. Cranford received $5,000.

"In New Jersey, 372 police agencies participated in the May 2015 Click It or Ticket Enforcement Mobilization. New Jersey's seat belt usage rate currently stands at 91.36%, up from 87.59% in 2014 and the highest usage rate since the 94.51% that was recorded in 2011," according to the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety.
