Cranford Police Receive $1,000 Grant

The grant will support the Cranford Police Department's Annual Youth Academy

Cranford, NJ -- A $1,000 Helping Hands in the Community grant was awarded to the Cranford Police Deparment from the Allstate Foundation.

It was awarded in honor of local agent Ron Murtha’s service and dedication to supporting the agency and community as a whole.

Murtha of Allstate Insurance of Cranford has been a proud supporter of the Cranford Police Department and has actively volunteered his time at the department’s “National Night Out” events.

The grant will support the Cranford Police Department’s Annual Youth Academy, a law enforcement program aimed at encouraging open communications between youth in Cranford and members of the police force.

“Ron’s commitment is truly remarkable and we are thankful to the Allstate Foundation for recognizing his dedication to our agency and the community members we serve,” stated Cranford Police Chief James Wozniak in a release.

The Allstate Foundation invests in the local efforts of Allstate’s agency owners and employees, who are passionate about their communities and have a keen understanding of what they need most. In 2015, Allstate, together with its employees, agency owners and The Allstate Foundation gave $36 million to nonprofits across the nation and volunteered more than 250,000 hours. Since their founding in 1952, they’ve contributed more than $400 million.
