Demystifying the Enigma: A Lecture by James Gannon

The Enigma Machine, a code breaking device used by British intelligence during World War II, provided critical information to the Allied forces that helped hasten the end of the war. The machine was the subject of a very popular recent film entitled The Imitation Game. James Gannon, a former writer and producer at NBC News, has published four books, including Stealing Secrets, Telling Lies: How Spies and Codebreakers Helped Shape the Twentieth Century (2001). Admission to the program is free and all are welcome.The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Cranford Public Library.
