Driver Tried To Elude Police: Cranford Cops

Charles Osei failed to stop for police, authorities said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 20-year-old Union man faces a host of moving violations after failing to stop for police on Feb. 15, according to the Cranford Police Department.

According to authorities, Patrolman Shayne Temple stopped a 2006 Mazda on North Union Avenue and Claremont Place for erratic driving. Following an investigation on scene, Temple arrested the driver, Charles Osei, for eluding after he initially failed to stop for police units, police said.

He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for reckless driving, speeding, failure to keep right, an unsafe lane change, failure to signal a turn, failure to stop, improper use of a horn and maintenance of lamps, police said.
