Drug, Warrant Arrest On Commerce Drive: Cranford Police
Hanayah Brown and Reginald Mclean were stopped for 'unsafe backing,' police said.
CRANFORD, NJ - A 20-year-old Newark woman and a 33-year-old Newark man were arrested and charged with drug offenses after a motor vehicle stop on Aug. 3, according to the Cranford Police Department.
According to authorities, Patrolman Thomas Bell stopped a 2009 Buick on Myrtle Street and Commerce Drive for unsafe backing. Following an investigation on the scene, Bell arrested a passenger, Hanayah Brown, for suspected marijuana found in her possession, police said. The driver, Reginald Mclean, was also arrested for an active arrest warrant he had out of Essex County, police said.
Brown was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, McLean was issued motor vehicle summonses for a suspended driver and unclear plates, police said.
