Drunk Driver Cracked Up Car, Was Uninsured: Cranford Police

Ronald Gomez was charged with careless driving, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 52-year-old Elizabeth man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a motor vehicle stop on Oct. 4, according to the Cranford Police Department.

According to authorities, police units were dispatched to the area of North Avenue East and Centennial Avenue on the report of a suspicious vehicle. Following an investigation on scene, Patrolman Lynne Galvez arrested the driver, Ronald Gomez, for driving while intoxicated, police said.

He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Gomez was issued a motor vehicle summonses for failure to report a crash, careless driving and no valid insurance card in his possession, police said.
