Drunk Driver Runs Red Light: Cranford Police
Tara Burrell was charged with reckless and careless driving, police said.
CRANFORD, NJ - A 46-year-old Linden woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after running a red light on Oct. 11, according to the Cranford Police Department.
According to authorities, Patrolman Ali Muhammad stopped a 2010 Lexus on Raritan Road and Coleman Avenue for failing to stop for a red traffic signal. Following an investigation on scene, Muhammad arrested the driver, Tara Burrell, for driving while intoxicated. She was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date.
In addition, Burrell was issued a motor vehicle summonses for refusal to the submitting of breath
samples, careless driving, reckless driving, delaying traffic, disregard of an official traffic control device, obstructing traffic, an improper turn and an unsafe lane change, police said.
