Join the 2010 Rubber Duck Race at Hanson Park on Sunday, October 10, 2010. As part of Pedal Paddle Fun Day, the Rubber Ducky Race will take place at 3:30pm. The (serial numbered) ducks will be released into the river and the first duck to cross the finish line wins a $250 Sports Authority gift certificate! Other prizes include: Cranford Canoe Club Adventure Day - $100, Sports Card Clinic at Attack of the Baseball Cards - $100 (60 Milltown Rd, Union), Cranford Corner - $100 (415 Centennial Ave, Cranford), Il Gabbiano an Italian Bistro - $100 (10 South Ave West, Cranford), Lunch at Senorita's & mini-golf at Hyatt Hills for 4 - $100 (1300 Raritan Road, Cranford) as well as many others. Participants do not have to be present to win. The ducks on sale at the Canoe Club, Joanie's Cafe, Periwinkles, Simply Art & Framing, all in Cranford, for $5 per duck or $20 for 5 ducks. Proceeds of the Rubber Duck Race benefit maintenance and programs at Hanson Park. The Hanson Park Conservancy is a non profit corporation begun in 2004 by a group of Cranford Citizens to support efforts to upgrade and maintain Hanson Park and also to provide guidance and financial support to the preservation of the Cranford Canoe Club building.
