The Cranford Recreation and Parks Department would like to remind everyone that registration for the Fall/Winter/Spring Boys &amp; Girls Basketball League, as well as registration for the High School Basketball League will begin on August 1, 2011 at 9:00am and end on October 1, 2011.  The program will run from November to March and are open to Cranford Residents only. Hosted by the Borough of Kenilworth, the Boulevard will be closed to vehicle traffic from 14th St. to 23rd St. and transformed into a giant block party from 10&nbsp;am-4:00 pm. This event will feature quality exhibitors, a special crafter’s section, lots of great food, kiddie rides, a kids’ area, live music and performances, local merchants &amp; civic organizations, and a large classic car show. The car show starts on the west end of the event at 14th Street.

SHOPPING Shop till you drop along the Boulevard with over 100 quality exhibitors selling jewelry, handbags, sports collectibles, clothing, home decor, and more. There is a special section featuring handmade crafts from local and nearby crafters and artisans, with unique, one-of-a-kind items.
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT Whether on stage or under our music tents, you will enjoy the sounds of some very talented cover bands, soloists, dancers, demonstrations from the local karate &amp; dance studios, and more. It’s also a chance to kick back and take a break in the music section, filled with tables and chairs for your use. This year we have 2 great bands: Cold Sweat from&nbsp;10am-1pm and Theatre Rock from 2pm-4pm.&nbsp;
KIDS ZONE Plus lots of fun stuff in the kids’ zone all day, where children will enjoy a section filled with kiddie bounce rides, slides, interactive blow-ups, face painting, sand art &amp; kids’ games, and temporary tattoos, just to name a few.
FOOD TRUCKS As you stroll along the Blvd, stop to have a bite to eat and sit at tables in our live music area. Come hungry and enjoy gourmet food truck favorites like sausage &amp; pepper sandwiches, cheesesteaks, kettle corn, chicken fingers, ice cream, zeppoles, shish kabobs, gyros, fresh-cut fries, fresh-squeezed lemonade, Italian ice, and many other great gourmet foods.
CAR SHOW This year’s event will again feature a car show of&nbsp;Custom…Classic…Street Rod…Muscle&nbsp;Cars&nbsp;in front of Harding School (Enter from Boulevard &amp; North 14th&nbsp;St./use&nbsp;426 Boulevard in your GPS). Set up starts after 10 am. Registration&nbsp; – Day of Show.&nbsp; Cars must be registered by 1:00 PM to be judged. Trophies for Winners!

Steeple Concerts at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Westfield is honored and delighted to invite the general, music-loving public to a long-awaited, live performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s masterful Great Mass in C-minor.&nbsp;&nbsp;On Sunday, May 17, at 5 PM, performed with full chorus and orchestra, this year’s Masterworks tribute to Mozart’s genius will conclude the 2025-2026 Steeple Concerts season.
St. Paul’s is located at 414 E. Broad Street (near Euclid Avenue) in Westfield, NJ.&nbsp; Tickets, priced at $40 for adults and $20 for students, may be purchased online at <a href="https://steepleconcerts.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">steepleconcerts.org</a> or on May 17 at the concert door.&nbsp; Free concert parking is available in the St. Paul’s parking lot off of Euclid Avenue or on St. Paul’s Street next to the church.&nbsp; Following the event, concert attendees are invited to a lavish reception in the church’s Hamersley Hall, where they can meet and greet concert soloists, chorus singers, and members of the professional orchestra. 
 
Mozart (1756-1791) composed his Grossemesse (K. 427) in 1782-83, age 26, when he had moved from Vienna to Salzburg.&nbsp; This move came shortly after his marriage to Maria Costanze Weber (1742-1842), the Austrian singer, businesswoman, and beloved wife who managed Mozart’s legacy after his untimely death in 1791.&nbsp; The Great Mass was possibly “written as a votive offering” to that beloved wife. (Letter to Mozart’s father, Jan 4, 1783).
Though never completed, the Great Mass is considered one of Mozart’s finest, most beautiful works. The work presents on a much grander and more ambitious scale than the 15 settings Mozart had first laid out for it. With coloratura soloist Constanze singing the Soprano 1 parts, the Mass premiered in Salzburg (1783) with only the Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, and Benedictus completed.&nbsp; The Mass remains unfinished and will be performed as composed by Mozart, with additional editorial orchestration of the incomplete sections. 
 
Masterworks conductor Mark Hyczko, St. Paul’s celebrated Music Director and organist, notes that, “This Masterworks concert tribute to Mozart brings together a chorus of more than fifty voices, made up of singers from both our St. Paul’s Choir and local Westfield-area communities, together with a full orchestra of professional players, many from the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.&nbsp; ”Mr. Hyczko adds that, “We look forward to presenting soprano Nadine Robinson, mezzo-soprano Cornelia Lotito, tenor Jeremy Blossey, and bass Charles Schneider as our distinguished Mozart Mass soloists.”
