Tour this unique wetland park in nearby Rahway that was created as the result of a partnership between the Rahway River Association, local and county governments and private industry. Learn about the history of the park and the native vegetation that is filtering pollution as well as cleaning storm water. Also, learn about the non-native invasive plants that compete aggressively in wetland areas.
The program will help participants identify non-native species and discuss removal techniques. Following the program, participants can do some hands-on removal under the direction of Union County Environmental Specialist, Betty Ann Kelly. Go to rahwayriver.org for more details and directions. Registration recommended but not required. To register for an event call 732-340-0882 or write to rahwayriverassociation@verizon.net.
