The Friends of the Cranford Public Library invite you to warm up for St. Patrick’s Day with a traditional Irish music session featuring McDermott’s Handy. Named in honor of Ed McDermott, a renowned fiddler from Ballinamore, County Leitrim, McDermott’s Handy is the husband and wife duo of Dennis Gormley and Kathy DeAngelo. Kathy sings, plays Irish harp, fiddle and banjo, and adds the bodhran and mandolin on occasion. Dennis sings, plays guitar, flute, tin whistle, bouzouki, and mandolin. The many venues at which the duo have appeared include the Cumberland County Performing Arts Center, the New Jersey Folk Festival, the Philadelphia Irish Music & Dance Festival, the Watchung Arts Center, and Rutgers University. Admission to the program is free and all are welcome.
