Fisher & Phillips Attorney Named Lifetime Achievement Award Winner

MURRAY HILL, N.J., May 12, 2016 – Labor and employment law firm Fisher & Phillips LLP is proud to announce that Senior Counsel Cynthia Jacob has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Jersey Law Journal.

The award, which is in its second year and relies on recommendations from the legal community, is designed to recognize noteworthy attorneys who have helped to shape laws in New Jersey, whether through their work on the bench, in-house or at a law firm.

Previously, Jacob received the New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s Medal of Honor for her longstanding commitment to New Jersey’s legal legacy and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism’s coveted Daniel J. O’Hern Award.

She is a former president of the New Jersey State Bar Association and former chair of the Lawyers’ Advisory Committee for the United States District court for the District of New Jersey,

Jacob began her distinguished career in the New Jersey State Office of the Public Defender. She has extensive experience litigating employment-related cases, including wrongful termination, benefits disputes, race, sex and age discrimination and other civil rights matters, all on behalf of management. Over the last few years, Jacob has focused on arbitration and mediation of state and federal employment-related claims.

Along with the other winners, Jacob will be honored as part of the Law Journal’s Professional Excellence Awards dinner on June 15 at the Brookdale Country Club in Florham Park.
