The Garden Club of Cranford Celebrates 89th Year

As the New Year begins, The Garden Club of Cranford, organized in 1927, celebrates its 89th year. The Club holds membership in the National Garden Clubs, Inc; Garden Club of New Jersey, District V; the Nature Conservancy of New Jersey and the Cranford Hanson Park Conservancy.

Our membership is dedicated to promoting a love for the art of gardening, horticulture and floral design as well as supporting local civic, environmental, educational and charitable efforts.

The Club hosts an informative and fun garden related program at each monthly meeting. Ongoing projects throughout each year include: arranging fresh floral pieces to accompany the trays of the Mobile Meals Program; preparation of floral arrangements for the annual Jardine Academy Prom; maintenance of plantings located in the front of the Cranford Public Library; decoration of one home on the Cranford Junior Women’s Club Holiday House Tour; creation of festive table arrangements for the StreetLight Ministry Holiday Party; participation in floral competitions; field trips; display of artifact exhibitions showcased in the Cranford Public Library; consulting on changes within the Josiah Crane Park and philanthropic efforts through various club events raising monies to fund distribution of an annual scholarship for a Cranford resident pursuing a college degree in a garden related field of study.
