The Garden State in Bloom - Lecture/PowerPoint Presentation
Monday, May 2, 2016, 7:30 p.m., Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Avenue, Cranford, NJ 07016

The Friends of the Cranford Public Library invite you to join professional photographer and publisher Walter Choroszewski as he retraces the path taken in creating his award-winning book, The Garden State in Bloom, and revisits the beautiful public gardens of New Jersey. The program showcases Mr. Choroszewski’s 25 favorite public gardens with colorful photography and historical information about each garden. Walter Choroszewski has been a leading advocate of Jersey pride since 1980, when he was commissioned to photograph the state for a book project. The resulting book, New Jersey, a Scenic Discovery, launched his photographic career, as well as his link to the Garden State. He has since published 18 books of photography. Mr. Choroszewski was the primary photographer of the “New Jersey & You: Perfect Together” campaign in the 1980s and 90s. He was the recipient of the first New Jersey Photo Journalism Award in 1989. In addition to state tourism materials, his photographs of New Jersey have been widely published in calendars, magazines, and textbooks. The program is free and all are welcome.
