James O. Swetman, 88, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, he lived in Cranford since 1957.
Friends are invited to a memorial visitation 4-7 PM Monday February 12 at the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West in Cranford. A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at Saint Michael’s Church, 40 Alden St., Cranford.
Mr. Swetman served as an Army MP during the Korean War, he was a merchandizer for Wakefern Corporation for many years. An avid bowler, he loved gardening and spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Genevieve (Matrangolo) Swetman last year.
Mr. Swetman is survived by three devoted children Linda Vicci, Mark Swetman (Laurie), and Deborah Linthicum; five loving grandchildren, Christopher Vicci (Jacqueline), Anna Roga (Matthew), Gregory Vicci, James T. Swetman, and Emma Linthicum; and his beloved great-granddaughter, Ava Vicci.
