The Jumble Store, a non-profit thrift store, reopens for the 2019-2020 year on Wednesday, August 28that 11:00 am. We have received some wonderful donations this summer, so shop early for the best selections! The Jumble Store is open Wednesday and Friday 11am-5pm; Thursday 11am-8pm; Saturday 10am-5pm; and closed Sunday through Tuesday. It's located at 110 Walnut Avenue in Cranford with free parking out back. Donations are welcome during store hours. The Jumble Store serves as the primary fundraiser for The Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield. All proceeds help fund the Career Closet, which provides FREE career wear to women re-entering the workforce; the Teen Closet, which provides resume and college application instruction, and FREE career wear to underserved high school seniors; and college scholarships to deserving high school seniors. The community is invited to Fairview Cemetery and Arboretum for an early morning bird observation walk, led by Pete Axelrod, a lifelong naturalist. Spring is a busy time for migrating birds, when a variety of species return to the north. Join fellow bird enthusiasts to observe some of these species on Saturday, May 9th to discover the thrilling sounds of songbirds in a pastoral setting of blossoming fruit trees and daffodils. Those interested are asked to gather at the back gate located on Gallows Hill Road at 8:00 am. Bring binoculars and wear walking shoes, as the grounds can be hilly. In the event of rain, the event will not be held.
Please register at Friendsoffairview1.org. Space is limited to 20 individuals, so make your reservation soon. Fairview Cemetery and Arboretum is located at 1100 East Broad Street, Westfield, NJ 07090. On premises parking is available.

Come out and join us Saturday for our May 9th Drive-Thru Food Collection — a special way to give in honor of Mother’s Day!
As we prepare to celebrate mothers and all who nurture and care for others, Cranford United Methodist Church invites our Cranford neighbors to share that same spirit of compassion with families in need.
We’ll be collecting grocery items in the church parking lot to help support local households. Simply place your donations in your trunk, and our friendly volunteers will be there to receive them—quick, easy, and meaningful.
All donations will be delivered to St. Joseph Social Service Center, where they will be distributed to neighbors who could use a helping hand.
This Mother’s Day weekend, honor the love and care of mothers everywhere by helping provide for others in our community.
Suggested Items:
Fresh Produce: Apples, pears, potatoes, sweet potatoes, celery, onions, garlic, and carrots. 
Pantry Staples: Soup, peanut butter, oil, spices, salad dressing, mayo, ketchup, pasta, pasta sauce, rice. 
Canned Goods: Vegetables, beans, tuna and chicken. 
For Kids: Snacks and juice boxes. 
Other Essentials: Diapers, baby wipes, soap, dish detergent, cleaning supplies, toilet paper.
Can’t make it on Saturday? You can drop off food anytime 24/7 at the Free Little Pantry in the church’s parking lot.
