Lottery Open For Cranford's Full-Day Kindergarten

The tuition based program is accepting applications through Nov. 26.

CRANFORD, NJ - The Cranford Board of Education will offer a pair of tuition-based full-day kindergartens for the 2020-2021 school year, and registration is open.

In anticipation of high interest in the program, participation will be based on a lottery, officials said.

Children who will be five-years-old by Oct. 1, 2020, and are Cranford residents are eligible
for the full-day kindergarten program. The application can also be downloaded from the website.

The application must be submitted to the Superintendent’s Office by 4:00 p.m. on Nov. 26. Applications submitted after Nov. 2 will be placed on a waiting list.

Names are chosen through the use of a random number generator. Those chosen will be notified via email after Dec. 2 if they have been selected or placed on a waitlist. Applicants should be aware there is a tuition charge of $735 per month, officials said.

The locations of the full-day kindergarten programs are Bloomingdale Avenue School and Walnut Avenue School. Parents/Guardians will be responsible for transportation.

Children attending the full day program will be placed in their home school for first grade in
2021-2022.

Registration for half-day, full-day kindergarten and first grade children who are new to
the Cranford Schools will be conducted the week of Feb/ 17, 2020.
