Former Cranford mayor Ed Robinson will to talk about his recently published mystery novel, The Imperfect Man. A Cranford resident for many years, Mr. Robinson now lives in Sea Girt. His appearance is sponsored by the Cranford Public Library. The Imperfect Man is his second book. The novel’s main character is Angel Barnacle, who was also the main character of Mr. Robinson’s first book, A Jersey Shore Angel. After a decorated career as a New York City detective, Angel has returned to his roots at the Jersey Shore and, with two failed marriages behind him, he starts a private detective agency, chasing down wayward spouses. The Imperfect Man is the story of Alex, considered by many the perfect man. Tall, handsome, and athletic, he speaks five languages and finished at the top of his class in prep school and college. As if that were not enough, his father has set him up as the head of a large charitable foundation. Alex meets wealthy Boston socialite Abagail Harding, who uses sex and drugs in an attempt to dominate him and take control of the foundation. When Alex disappears, along with the foundation funds, Abagail hires Angel to track down Alex and the missing fortune. A worldwide chase ensues, while, at the same time, Angel reconnects with Lesley, a beautiful young woman he knew from his days in law enforcement. As in their earlier relationship, Angel cannot resist her charms, but that spells trouble. Mr. Robinson will l have copies of A Jersey Shore Angel and The Imperfect Man available for purchase and for signing. Admission is free and all are welcome.
