“Olmsted By Design!” Free First-Person, Dramatic Presentation

Featuring Kirk R. Brown costumed and acting as Frederick Law Olmsted, father of landscape architecture.

Please join the Hanson Park Conservancy on Tuesday, February 27th at 7:00 PM at the Cranford Community Center, for a first-person, dramatic presentation, “Olmsted By Design!” with Kirk R. Brown costumed and acting as Frederick Law Olmsted, father of landscape architecture. Olmsted created cities out of the American wilderness and began a conservation movement still challenging the world today. He believed parks improve our society by building a sense of community and a place for recreation. Olmsted helped create Central Park and Prospect Park in NYC, but of special interest will be the many projects that Olmsted created in the Garden State. His landscape architecture helped shape a nation and Mr. Brown will bring us along for the ride!

The Cranford Community Center is located at 220 Walnut Ave. in Cranford. The program is free and open to the public. No registration is required, but seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information please go to our website, www.hansonparkconservancy.com.

This history program is made possible in part by a HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
