Pedestrian Struck By Car Halloween Night In Cranford

A 68-year-old man was hospitalized after the accident, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 68-year-old man was sent to the hospital after being struck by a car on South Avenue East Thursday night, according to the Cranford Police Department.

According to authorities, Cranford Police received reports of a one-car motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian shortly before 7 p.m. on South Avenue East between High Street and Centennial Ave.

The injured man was treated on scene by EMS and transported to an area hospital for further evaluation, police said. The Cranford Police Department Traffic Bureau is investigating the crash. South Avenue between High and Centennial was closed while the scene is being processed.

The victim's identity was not released due to patient status and at this time no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
