Rahway Valley Railroad Gone But Not Forgotten

The last train ran on the RVRR in 1992, but fans keep its memory alive.

When the last train ran on the Rahway Valley Railroad it would have been easy to imagine rusted rails soon covered by growing weeds. Some devoted fans have not only collected artifacts from the line, but also stories about those who ran the trains. Monday evening the Friends of the Cranford Library hosted a talk by author Richard J. King about the Rahway Valley. King spoke with Transportation Radio’s Bernie Wagenblast after his talk to explain why the Kenilworth-based company is so interesting.
