Speeding Driver Charged With Heroin Possession: Cranford Police
Darin Alcolea was stopped on North Avenue East, police said.
CRANFORD, NJ - A 28-year-old Tinton Falls resident was arrested and charged with possession after a motor vehicle stop on Sept. 17, according to the Cranford Police Department.
According to authorities, Patrolman Spencer Durkin stopped a 2008 Hyundai on North Avenue East and the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange for speeding. Following an investigation on scene, Durkin arrested the driver, Darin Alcolea, for possession of suspected heroin and Xanax found inside the vehicle, police said.
He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, Alcolea was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
