The Cranford varsity tennis team got the season off to a great start with a convincing 4-1 victory over Somerville Tuesday.
Marianna Dzunova led Cranford with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 (4-0) triumph at first singles. Liz Berry won 6-3, 6-1 at third singles.
Kristy Dalbert and Rachel Halek won 6-3, 6-2 at first doubles while Lori Joseph and Colleen Jones took their second doubles match 6-3, 6-4.

On the soccer field, the boys' varsity soccer team fell to 0-2, losing to Plainfield 3-0 Monday and Elizabeth 1-0 at Williams field Tuesday night. The girls' team lost to Summit 5-0 on Tuesday and 4-0 to Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Saturday. View video highlights of that game here.
