Thirsty Turtle Opens Second Location in Cranford

Cranford, NJ -- Have you checked out the Thirsty Turtle yet?

The restaurant/cafe opened its doors at its newest location in Cranford last month.

“This is a prime location for our concept,” said Jim Finnegan, one of four owners of the restaurant. “Cranford is geared toward families and we have been very successful in Florham Park.”

Finnegan and his partners have two other restaurants in the area. They opened the Famished Frog in Morristown about 18 years ago and the Thirsty Turtle in Florham Park 3 years ago.

Now the group has opened a second Thirsty Turtle location in Cranford.

“The design is the same and the layout is conducive to our location in Florham Park, along with the menu,” Finnegan said.

The unique names of the restaurants came from a contest that asked guests to come up with names for the Famished Frog. There were about 3,500 entries that were narrowed down and the names were chosen. The same was done for the Thirsty Turtle.

The menu offers a wide range of American-style items for lunch and dinner. From soups and salads to burgers and sandwiches and plenty of entrees to choose from.

The restaurant also has an extensive beer and wine list to pair with any menu item. There are 10 rotating taps which feature the best seasonal beers, local craft, new releases, and national craft brews.
