Two Heroin Arrests On Elizabeth Avenue: Cranford Police

Justin Sanzo and Ely Torres were charged with after motor vehicle stop, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 47-year-old Cranford man and a 42-year-old Elizabeth man were arrested and charged with heroin possession after a motor vehicle stop on June 20, according to the Cranford Police Department.

According to authorities, Patrolman Christopher Gross stopped a 2007 Chevrolet on North Avenue East and Elizabeth Avenue for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation on scene, Gross arrested the driver and a passenger, Justin Sanzo, 47, and Ely Torres, 42, respectively, for possession of suspected heroin found inside the vehicle, police said.

They were processed and provided with Superior Court appearance dates.

In addition, Sanzo was issued motor vehicle summonses for a seatbelt violation, suspended driver and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
