Water Main Replacement Projects in Cranford Underway

New Jersey American Water begins water main replacement projects in the area of North and South Lenhome Drives as well as Lincoln Avenue.

Cranford, NJ -- New Jersey American Water begins water main replacement projects in the area of North and South Lenhome Drives as well as Lincoln Avenue from Walnut Avenue to Denman Road.

  • North and South Lenhome Drives

Approximately 3,050 feet of aging 6-inch water main along North and South Lenhome Drives will be replaced to improve water service reliability and increase water flows for household consumption and fire fighting. The project will also include installing three new fire hydrants and replacing 55 service lines.

  • Lincoln Avenue

A total of 1,400 feet of aging 16-inch water main along Lincoln Avenue (from Walnut Avenue to Denman Road will be replaced to improve water service reliability and increase water flows for household consumption and firefighting.

Work for both projects has already begun and will be done from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays. Work on Sundays and evenings is not expected. Weather permitting, the project will be completed by the end of March.

Final paving and restoration will be completed in Spring 2016.
