Oh- how winter seems so long when you are eagerly waiting to break out your corals, pinks and sun kissed shades in lip gloss and nail polish. But, you must be patient and embrace the beautiful shades that winter has to offer you in your makeup palette and know Spring is only 75 days away. Right now you can still enjoy your eye shades in warm hues such as a soft honey by sweeping over your entire eyelid and accentuating your eyes by adding a pop of majestic blue or emerald green. Don’t forget to keep your lips nourished in pretty plums or soft berry shades. You can tone down these two yummy colors with a light cream colored lip gloss or lip balm for a more daytime feel. Just remember not to neglect your skin in this dry cold weather by using a moisturizer with sunscreen on your face, neck, eyes, lips and hands throughout the winter. (Helpful fact: Sunscreen around your lips is very important- it will pay off in the long run). With little time left, try to let your moisturizer absorb for a minute before you apply any other makeup. Your makeup will go on smoother and it also gives your skin time to absorb all the great moisturizing benefits. Once you have accepted the cold weather for a few more months, go get that scarf you have been meaning to wear, wrap it around your neck and try a new knot. A new accessory may be just what you need while you dream about Spring.
Hopefully my writing will inspire and excite you regarding current beauty and makeup trends, techniques and applications that are designed to embrace real women, like myself. As a mother of three, my “me” time is very important, so I feel I have to do all I can in a short time period. However, I have learned the importance of taking care of my skin and enjoying all the little things that makeup and accessories can offer me in my precious “girl” time. There is something fun about finding that perfect shade, that new color or skincare product, or “just right” scarf or bling that can brighten anyone’s day.
So much beauty, so little time.
