Santa Claus is coming to Deptford Mall! Starting November 6, families can step into a winter wonderland at Deptford Mall and create picture-perfect holiday memories during a visit with Santa. From the youngest believers to the young at heart, it’s the perfect way to start or continue a treasured family tradition.
“There’s something truly special about seeing the joy on children’s faces when they meet Santa,” said Daniel Lauler, Deptford Mall General Manager. “We’re honored to host this beloved tradition once again and help families across our community celebrate the magic of the season.”
Visits with Santa are always free, and guests may purchase photo packages to take home keepsake images of their holiday moment. To help ensure a preferred date and time, reservations are recommended and can be made at DeptfordMall.com/SantaPhotos. Walk-up visits are welcome as availability allows. New this year, top photo packages include complimentary access to Pixie Post, a digital greeting card platform with more than 1,000 designs that can be sent to friends and family via email or SMS. This season, special events are planned through the season: 
·PJ Party to Kick off Deptford Mall’s Pajama Drive: Saturday, November 7th from 11AM to 1PM.Families are invited to jump in their PJ’s and join in the fun at Center Court by Santa for character entertainment, crafts and more. Families are encouraged to bring a new pair of pajamas to donate. The Pajama drive will continue through the holidays. All pajamas collected benefit Nemours Children’s Health, Deptford.
·Pet Photos with Santa – Mondays &amp; Wednesdays: November 9 – December 16 from 4PM – 8PM.Include your well-behaved pet in the holiday celebration with a special “Pets With Santa” visit at Deptford Mall. To keep these cherished memories for years to come, photos are available for purchase. Pets must be well-behaved and must be leashed for everyone’s safety. ·Santa Cares Event – Sunday, December 6 from 9AM – 10:30AM Santa Cares, in partnership with Autism Speaks and Cherry Hill Programs, provides a sensory-friendly Santa experience during dedicated hours outside of regular mall traffic. Guests of all ages and abilities can experience the time-honored tradition of a visit with Santa in a calmer, more sensitive environment. Visits with Santa are welcome and always free. For those interested in taking the memory home, Santa photo packages will be available for purchase.

Gloucester County Historical Society, 58 N. Broad Street, Woodbury, NJ

In collaboration with <a href="https://sjgr.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">South Jersey Ghost Research</a>, the <a href="https://www.gchsnj.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Gloucester County Historical Society</a> is sponsoring a program that enables 25 people to join a paranormal investigation team analyzing a sprawling, 260-year-old Victorian mansion in the center of Woodbury.
The event takes place on Friday, November 6, from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The cost is $30 per person and registration is required. The location is the Hunter-Lawrence-Jessup House at 58 North Broad Street in Woodbury. (See Google Maps link below.)

The building is the home of the Historical Society Museum. It has a disturbing history that hints at multiple possibilities of ghostings.
The building was standing in 1777 when the defeated Hessian survivors of the Battle of Red Bank retreated into town, many of them horribly wounded and dying. Those soldiers camped in the house's yard. Just a hundred yards away they had commandeered the Friends Meetinghouse to use as their hospital. And the dead soldiers were buried in a makeshift cemetery directly next to the Hunter-Jessup House. In 1883 those bodies were dug up and reburied in Bridgeton.
In another traumatic era, the house was the home of families that owned enslaved African Americans who likely worked there as domestic servants as well as in the outside commercial labors of those prominent white families.
The three-story house has 20 rooms and creepy two-century-old cellars. In 1979, the jawbone, several teeth, and limb bones were found buried directly beside the house while excavating for an addition. Examined by technicians at the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton, the bones were found to be those of an 18th-century female aged 15-16 who suffered from malnutrition at the time of her death. One suggestion was that she may have been an ill indentured servant who sat down against the wall of the house and died there. Another is that she was hastily buried in the same spot for reasons unknown.
