SAT. JUNE 7—Don’t Miss the Unveiling of New Street Murals in East Orange and Orange!
What’s Happening?
Come meet the artists, Gina Rivas-Velazquez and Steve Green! And join us for a day of mural painting, biking, dancing in the streets with DJs and a few sur-prizes. Registered mural volunteers will use their paint rollers to unveil the artists’ bold designs. Bikers will have a chance to join the RideOut from Soverel Park or attend a bike safety workshop near Orange City Hall.
The Freeway Drive for All project team, led by the Cities of East Orange and Orange in collaboration with our local community partners, invites ALL RESIDENTS to join this fun Street Art & Bike RideOut Event—a day dedicated to making some of Essex County’s busiest streets safer and more accessible for all.
Activities:
Street mural painting with local artists
DJ and music throughout the day (and fun prizes too!)
BikeRideOut + Safety Workshops to ride smart and stay safe
Community volunteer hours for students
Lunch for all pre-registered mural volunteers
Why?
Strong community participation from East Orange and Orange residents will help demonstrate broad support for these safety improvements, increasing the likelihood of continued local, regional, and state backing.

Date: Saturday, June 7, 2025 (rain or shine!)
Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

East Orange: S. Harrison St. & Freeway Drive W (near Forman Mills)
Orange: S. Essex Ave. & Tony Galento Plaza (near Orange Train Station)
