During Ramadan, up to 1.8 billion Muslims across the globe fast between sunrise and sunset. The fasting period ends with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. The timing of the holiday and celebrations depends on the sighting of the moon’s crescent, which usually follows a new moon.
At the Township event on March 31, Mayor Brad Cohen and other community leaders will be present. The public is invited to the ceremony to commemorate Ramadan.
