4-H Rhythm In Motion Cloggers Travel to New Hampshire

4-H Rhythm In Motion clogger Ashley Giannotto discusses the group's trip to New Hampshire.

The 4-H Rhythm In Motion Cloggers traveled to New Hampshire to attend the Northeast Clogging Convention.  We left for New Hampshire on March 17, 2011, and returned on March 20, 2011.   While in New Hampshire my group attended workshops and I competed in my first competition.

The workshops are broken into different levels.  I mostly go into the workshops for intermediates.  I have tried advanced workshops but they are hard.  These workshops are taught by instructors from all over the country.  The instructors teach us a routine to a song.

This year I decided I wanted to compete in the bracket Solo Choreographed.  I worked on a routine with my instructor for many weeks.  I was scared because this was the first time I would be on stage all by myself.  I came in third place.  I was happy because this was the first time I ever competed.  I received a trophy which I proudly show to everyone.  I know next year I will be competing again.

Our group has done many fundraisers to offset the cost of this trip.  This has allowed more of us to attend the Northeast Clogging Convention.

I would like to say “Thank you” to my instructor for helping me with my competition routine, my leader for supporting me, to all the parents that helped us get to New Hampshire and my RIM friends for all their support.

We had a great time in New Hampshire and will be back next year.
