EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — An estimated 450 students walked out of class at 10 a.m. Wednesday at East Brunswick High School. Seventeen students spoke about each of the 17 victims of the Parkland shooting. The event lasted 17 minutes total.
No students will be disciplined for walking out today. East Brunswick High senior Hema Kohli helped organize the walkout, and she sent Patch these photos:
At South Brunswick High School, an estimated 2,000 students walked out this morning. In Sayreville, which threatened a two-day suspension for walking out, one lone student, sophomore Rosa Rodriguez, walked out. It is unknown at this time if she will be disciplined.
