8 Inches on the Ground in East Brunswick as of 6 a.m.

East Brunwick, NJ - There were 8 inches of snow on the ground in East Brunswick as of 6 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wildwood Crest leads the state with 12 inches of snow. But that was at 12:30 a.m., and more has fallen since. The second highest snowfall is Neptune Township, 10 inches at 5 a.m.

It might look pretty outside, but the storm is only going to get worse: The snow will pick up, falling faster and heavier Saturday morning into Saturday evening, falling at a rate, at times, of 1 to 2 inches an hour. East Brunswick is estimated to get 14 to 20 inches total.

The winds will pick up, with some gusts up to 60 mph. It’s now looking like the northern part of the state will get more snow than previously expected, with Essex, Hudson and Union counties now predicted to get up to 24 inches.
