9/11 Remembrance At East Brunswick Municipal Complex
The community is invited to the ceremony to honor those who were killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Township will be hosting a remembrance ceremony to mark the 21st anniversary of the Sep. 11 terror attacks.
East Brunswick will honor the eight residents who lost their lives that day and the first responders, rescue teams and volunteers who worked selflessly during the time.

- Siew Nya Ang, East Brunswick, was a technical analyst for Marsh USA. She was on the 95th floor of the North Tower when the hijacked passenger plane slammed into the World Trade Center.
- Susan L. Blair, East Brunswick, was a team leader for Aon Insurance Co. at World Trade Center (92nd floor, Tower 2).
- Paul William Innella, East Brunswick, was a systems analyst for Cantor Fitzgerald at World Trade Center.
- Hweidar Jian, East Brunswick, worked for Cantor Fitzgerald at World Trade Center.
- Alan David Kleinberg, East Brunswick, was a securities trader at Cantor Fitzgerald at World Trade Center.
- Stuart Seid Louis, East Brunswick, worked as a managing director at Sandler O'Neill, on the 104th floor of 2 World Trade Center.
- Suzanne H. Passaro, East Brunswick, was a broker with Aon Corporation at World Trade Center.
- Kenneth W. Van Auken, East Brunswick, worked as a bond trader for Cantor Fitzgerald at World Trade Center.
At the World Trade Center, 2,763 died, including 343 firefighters and paramedics, 23 New York City police officers and 37 Port Authority police officers, according to History.com. At the Pentagon, 189 people were killed, including 64 on American Airlines Flight 77, the airliner that struck the building. On United Flight 93, 44 people died when the passengers who realized the plane had been hijacked plane caused the plane to crash in Pennsylvania before it could reach its intended target.
The remembrance ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Municipal Complex.
