EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The East Brunswick Human Relations Council will host the 10th Annual Unity Walk on Tuesday, May 12, bringing residents together to celebrate diversity, inclusion and community solidarity.
The event will take place at East Brunswick Municipal Pond from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Admission is free and open to all residents.
Now in its 10th year, the Unity Walk has become an established community tradition in East Brunswick. This year's event will feature live performances by the East Brunswick High School Chorus, remarks from local leaders, and a unity poster and essay contest. Attendees will also have the opportunity to create their own unity signs on-site, with all supplies provided.
Community groups and organizations are encouraged to bring banners and walk together in a show of solidarity.
The East Brunswick Human Relations Council, which organizes the annual event, works to promote understanding, respect and cooperation among residents of diverse backgrounds throughout the township.
Organizers say the milestone 10th anniversary edition of the walk is an opportunity for the community to reflect on a decade of coming together and to reaffirm its commitment to inclusion.
The event is free and no registration is required. East Brunswick Municipal Pond is located off Ryders Lane in East Brunswick. For more information, residents can contact the East Brunswick Human Relations Council through the township's website at eastbrunswick.org.
