EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick Township Council introduced an ordinance during the Monday meeting that would add four streets to the township's time-limit parking schedule.
Ordinance 26-24 would amend Chapter 209 of the township code to impose a two-hour parking limit on Burnham Place, High Point Road, Madeline Avenue, and Oliver Court.
The restriction would apply to both sides of each street for their entire length, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, according to the ordinance. Residents of the affected streets would be exempt from the restriction where they live.
The council said it needed to "promote traffic safety, improve parking availability for residents, and ensure the orderly movement of vehicles" when introducing the measure, according to the ordinance text.
A public hearing on the ordinance is scheduled for the council's Sept. 14 meeting, where residents can weigh in before a final vote.
