East Brunswick Council Weighs Parking Rules, Mall Redevelopment Plan Monday

Meeting includes public hearing on parking ordinance and presentation on mall-area overhaul.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick Township Council will meet Monday, at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Courtroom at the Jean Walling Civic Center, with a presentation on the Brunswick Square Mall & Vicinity Redevelopment Plan headlining the agenda.

Kate Keller of Phillips Preiss Grygiel Leheny Keler, LLC will present Phases I and II of the redevelopment plan, which covers Block 131, Lots 7.01 and 20.01, and Block 131, Lots 20.03 and 20.04.

The council will hold a public hearing on Ordinance 26-24, which would amend the township code's time-limit parking schedule to add additional streets.

Council members will also introduce Ordinance 26-25, which would formally adopt the Brunswick Square Mall & Vicinity Redevelopment Plan. A public hearing on that ordinance is scheduled for Sept. 28.

A related resolution, R-26-282, would refer the redevelopment plan to the Township Planning Board for review, in accordance with state law.

The consent agenda includes resolutions 26-277 through 26-285, covering routine items such as:

The meeting will also include reports from the mayor, township administrator, attorney, clerk and council members, along with a public comment period, during which speakers are limited to five minutes.

The council's next scheduled meeting is Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
