From carpenter ants and wood-boring bees to seasonal mosquitoes and ticks, New Jersey residents deal with no shortage of annoying—and potentially costly—insects.
To help residents keep their homes safe and pest-free, the East Brunswick Friends of the Library will host "What Bugs You," an informative presentation on tackling the most common Garden State pests, on Thursday, November 19, at 7:30 PM.
Held at the East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive), the program features board-certified entomologist Sarah Latyn, Technical Training Manager for Target Specialty Products. Latyn will offer practical advice and expert strategies for identifying, preventing, and managing common local pests.
Latyn earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Rutgers University and a Master of Science in Entomology from the University of Kentucky. A licensed technician in multiple states and an experienced pest control educator, she regularly speaks at industry events, provides insect identification services, and creates technical training materials.
"What Bugs You" is organized by the East Brunswick Friends of the Library as part of their annual meeting. The Friends are a volunteer group that works to fundraise in support of special programs, events, and resources available at the East Brunswick Public Library. Information on joining the Friends can be found online at www.ebpl.org/friends.
