Armed Robbery at Advance Auto Parts in East Brunswick

Two store employees were tied up while he robbed the Rt. 18 store, police said.

East Brunswick, NJ - Police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery at the Rt. 18 Advance Auto Parts on February 18, where he tied the two store employees up and took money from the safe.

At approximately 8:49 p.m. that day, units responded to Advance Auto Parts at 376 Rt. 18, for an armed robbery.

An unknown male entered the store wearing a ski mask and brandishing a handgun, store employees said. He took the two employees into the office area and removed an undetermined amount of money from the safe. He then tied the employees up and fled in an unknown direction. It is unknown at this time if the suspect was on foot or drove away in a vehicle. Neither employee was injured during the incident. No other customers or employees were in the store at the time of the robbery.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned Hispanic male, between 30-45 years old, approximately 5’9”, average build, black eyebrows and dark-colored eyes. He was wearing a black ski mask, dark blue or purple hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and light brown boots. The suspect may also have a colored tattoo on the back of his left hand, police said.
