Armed Robbery At North Brunswick Wawa On Rt. 27
There was an armed robbery at the Wawa on Rt. 27 and Cozzens Lane on Monday of this week, and a Franklin Twp. man was arrested.

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — There was an armed robbery at the Wawa on Rt. 27 and Cozzens Lane on Monday of this week, North Brunswick police report.
A man walked into the Wawa after midnight, showed a handgun and then fired at least two shots while running off when police were called. Nobody was injured in the incident, and a Franklin Twp. man was arrested and charged with the crime.
The incident happened at approximately 1:15 a.m. Monday, April 2: Cleon Jones Jr., 33, of Franklin, walked into the Wawa and began stealing several items from throughout the store, police said. When confronted by employees, he pulled out a handgun and continued to take additional items, police said.

Jones then ran out of the store on foot, firing at least two shots outside during his escape. Later that same Monday, Jones was arrested, and the handgun was recovered.
He has been charged with multiple crimes, including robbery, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon unlawful purpose and theft.

Franklin Township police, Somerset County and Bound Brook police all helped lead to his arrest, North Brunswick police said.
