Arrests For Pot Smoking At East Brunswick Parking Garage

More arrests for sneaking into the East Brunswick parking garage on Old Bridge Turnpike, where police have increased patrols:

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — More teens have been arrested for sneaking into the East Brunswick parking garage on Old Bridge Turnpike, police said. East Brunswick police are patrolling the garage due to recent reports of vandalism and loitering.

At 10:43 p.m. on June 26, Ptl. John Hoernlein observed an occupied vehicle on the top level of the East Brunswick Transportation Center at 551 Old Bridge Turnpike. The East Brunswick parking garage is only for cars with parking permits and "No Trespassing" signs have been posted at each entrance.

While speaking to the occupants of the car, a group of men and women ages 22 and 19, from East Brunswick and South River, Ptl. Hoernlein said he detected the odor of raw marijuana.

The men were arrested for possession of marijuana under 50 grams, as well as given a summons for open alcohol in a motor behicle. Additionally, they were all issued township ordinances for trespassing.
