BOE Praises East Brunswick School Orchestra's 'Flawless' Carnegie Hall Performance

Superintendent Victor Valeski said the concert was a "huge success" with a large audience in attendance.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The East Brunswick High School Orchestra performed recently at the renowned Carnegie Hall, under the direction of Arvin Gopal.

During the Board of Education meeting on Thursday, the Superintendent and BOE members praised the students for their “flawless” performance.

“The concert was a huge success with a large audience in attendance,” Victor Valeski said. “The opportunity for these students to perform on the stage of one of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, was a once in a lifetime experience.”

Board members Jeff Winston who attended the performance said it was an “unbelievable” experience. Winston’s son was one of the student performers. He said it was an emotional night with many parents crying as they watched students perform.

“The performance was flawless, it was moving, it was amazing – nobody will forget it especially those kids,” Winston said.

The orchestra has been invited to be part of the program “Windsongs,” by the Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY).
