As we age, changes happen in different areas of our body including our brain. Normal brain aging could possibly mean slower processing speeds and more trouble multitasking. Although, it is normal to occasionally forget recent events such as where you put your keys.

Some risk factors that contribute to a decline in the brain according to the National Institute on Aging include environmental, lifestyle, and genetic factors. Examples of environmental risk factors are social isolation and loneliness. It is also important to know that diet also plays a role when it comes to brain health. Poor diet is a lifestyle risk factor that contributes to a decline in the brain.
