Cooling Centers Offer Relief

Find safe spaces to escape dangerous heat

Stay cool during periods of extreme heat
Stay cool during periods of extreme heat (Canva)

When temperatures become dangerously high, cooling centers provide a safe place to escape the heat. Public buildings such as community centers, libraries, and designated cooling centers offer air-conditioned spaces where residents can cool down and reduce their risk of heat-related illness.

If you or someone you know does not have access to air conditioning, plan ahead and locate the nearest cooling center before extreme heat arrives.
