Door-to-Door Soliciting in East Brunswick Leads to Burglary Arrest
They were stopped on Lake Avenue, knocking door to door at 9:20 p.m., police said.

East Brunswick, NJ - Two women who were soliciting door to door in East Brunswick were stopped by police last month, and one was found to be wanted on a warrant out of Newark, and also in possession of a stolen checkbook.
The incident happened June 22 at 9:21 p.m., East Brunswick police said, when patrol units responded to the area of Lake Avenue on a report of two women knocking door to door without a permit. Patrolman Jeff Dougherty stopped the two women, Deena Czyzewski and Ciara Pugsley, both of Newark, who said they were soliciting for an undisclosed company. Both women were issued township ordinances for soliciting without a permit.
But a further investigation revealed Czyzewski was found to be a wanted person out of Newark and also in possession of a checkbook belonging to a resident of Lake Avenue, police said. Police interviewed the Lake Avenue resident, and both women were then also charged with burglary.
