BOE Approves Appointment Of 2 Elementary School Principals In East Brunswick

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick Board of Education recently approved the recommended appointments of two new principals for its elementary schools.

Tatianna McBride was appointed principal of Chittick Elementary School and Russell Petronko was appointed to Hammarskjold Upper Elementary School.

A Hillsborough resident, McBride holds a BS in Elementary Education from Scranton University and MEd in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. She is currently enrolled in a Doctorate program at the American College of Education. She will be starting in her new role effective Aug. 1.

Petronko, of Hillsborough, holds a BS in Food Science from Rutgers University and MEd in Educational Leadership from Rutgers University. His appointment is effective July 16, through June 30, 2024.

“We are sitting here to support you. We’ll do everything we can to help you grow in East Brunswick School District,“ Hong said. “You are doing the frontline job to help our students, help our community.”

Board President Laurie Lachs praised Superintended Victor Valeski and his staff, for making the school district an attractive workplace.

“We are a very lucky district indeed that people want to rise to the ranks or want to come here to be part of the East Brunswick family,” Lachs said.
